ON-SITE PROGRAMS

1. STEAM SPROUTS

Timing: 10:00am

  • A special craft project, a story, and sensory activities.
  • This program is geared towards preschoolers with adult supervision
    10:00 am at the Muse Stage.

Note: We are open for limited hours on Mondays from 9am-12pm and do not schedule large groups on this day.

2. MESS MAKERS

— MONDAYS 10:30am-12:00pm

  • Get creative with sensory art on a large scale.
  • This program is geared towards preschoolers with adult participation.
  • 10:30am-12:00pm in MakeSpace.
  • PLEASE DRESS FOR THE MESS.
  • Included with admission, donations welcome.

3. KNOXVILLE SKIES STAR TOUR

— TUESDAYS AND FRIDAYS at 4:30 pm

  • Live guided tour of the East Tennessee night sky, in our full-dome Planetarium.
  • Learn about important features of the day and night sky, locate the five northern constellations and the north star.
  • Learn which stars, constellations, and planets are currently visible.
  • Each show is different!
  • All ages welcome!
  • Tickets for this show are $2 (Free for members) and can be purchased at the front desk.

Note- Museum admission not required for the 4:30 live star show.

4. SATURDAY SCIENCE CONNECTIONS

Timing: 11:30am-1:30pm

  • Explore a different topic every month with hands-on activities led by local experts or our educators!
  • Something different every week!
  • Find this guided activity in the exhibit area.
  • All ages welcome!
  • Included with admission, donations welcome.

5. TECH TIME

Timing: — SATURDAY 2:00-4:00pm & SUNDAY 3:00-4:00pm

  • Explore new technology every month featuring robots, circuits, and more!
  • Find this guided activity in Coding Corner.
  • Included with admission, donations welcome.

6. SUNDAY ART INSPIRATIONS

Timing: — Monthly 2:00-4:00pm
Local artists share their creative process and provide instruction on a take-home project.

  • Materials are provided.
  • Registration may be required depending on the activity.
  • See calendar listing for any specifics on recommended ages–will vary by activity
    included with admission, donations welcome.
